Softball Recap: Blair's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Blair had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They never let the Fremont Tigers get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Taytum Macholan made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Laynie Brown, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Emmi Hall was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Blair was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .500 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Blair's record now sits at 22-6. As for Fremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-22 record this season.

Blair wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Elkhorn on the 29th. As for Fremont, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Lincoln Southwest on the 30th.
