Soccer Game Preview: Rialto vs. Carter

The Rialto Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Carter Lions at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Rialto will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Rialto's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged Grand Terrace out 1-0. Give the Knights' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Melissa Ramirez, who's now up to 11 this season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matches, Carter finally came back down to earth on Monday. They fell just short of Grand Terrace by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time the Lions couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Carter's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6-1. As for Rialto, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Rialto skirted past Carter 3-2 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rialto since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
