Baseball Recap: Christian Heritage's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Christian Heritage proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Trion Bulldogs 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since April 15, 2024.

Jaylon Gay and Jace Denson did most of the damage at the plate: Gay went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Denson scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Jackson Locke was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Christian Heritage, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Trion, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

The future could be bright for both Christian Heritage and Trion: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Christian Heritage will try to hand Fannin County their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Trion will look to extend Coahulla Creek's six-game losing streak when they meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
