Softball Game Preview: Hillgrove Hawks vs. Paulding County Patriots

The Hillgrove Hawks will challenge the Paulding County Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Saturday, Hillgrove came up short against Brookwood and fell 8-5.

Meanwhile, Paulding County got the win against South Cobb last Thursday by a conclusive 14-1. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Paulding County let Ella Puckett and Aubree Busby run wild. Puckett went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Busby went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Busby's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Vinson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Paulding County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Paulding County and bumps their season record up to 12-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Hillgrove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.
