Basketball Game Preview: Sanger West Hornets vs. Strathmore Spartans

The Sanger West Hornets will head out to challenge the Strathmore Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sanger West comes in on three and Strathmore on 11.

Last Tuesday, Sanger West got the win against McLane by a conclusive 46-24.

Sanger West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aleja Reed led the charge by putting up six points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Sanger West is 5-1 when Reed posts five or more steals, but 11-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Emani Turner, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Sanger West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Strathmore over Granite Hills in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Strathmore blew past Granite Hills 64-38. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.

Strathmore's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Sanger West, their victory bumped their record up to 16-13.
