Soccer Game Preview: Middle College vs. Larchmont Charter

Middle College hasn't had much luck against Larchmont Charter recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Middle College Cougars will challenge the Larchmont Charter Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Middle College's offense. They lost 10-0 to New West Charter on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 885th, while the Eagles are ranked 319th).

Meanwhile, Larchmont Charter kept a clean sheet against Math & Science College Preparatory on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over the Sharks. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Math & Science College Preparatory from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Ada Travis led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Larchmont Charter is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those five contests. As for Middle College, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Middle College suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Larchmont Charter in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Middle College avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
