South Elgin won against Streamwood on Monday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Storm came out on top against the Sabres by a score of 5-2. Winning may never get old, but the Storm sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Zacharia Barkho spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Lund, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last ten games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Cutinello, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

South Elgin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

South Elgin pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Streamwood, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Elgin will challenge Riverside-Brookfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Streamwood, they will square off against Elmwood Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
