McLane lost to Kennedy back in December of 2018, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The McLane Highlanders couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 48-6 blowout they got against the Kennedy Thunderbirds. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.

Among those leading the charge was Mariya Sanchez, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Christine Sayaseng, who put up eight points.

The victory got McLane back to even at 7-7. As for Kennedy, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

McLane didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-33 win against Minarets on the 4th. Kennedy has also already played their next game, a 45-15 defeat against Fresno Christian on the 4th.
