Baseball Game Preview: Creekside Seminoles vs. Banneker Trojans

Creekside is 8-2 against Banneker since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Creekside Seminoles will host the Banneker Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Banneker took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Creekside, who comes in off a win.

Creekside is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Monday. They blew past KIPP Atlanta Collegiate 16-2.

TAKEEVIUS THORTON was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. THORTON was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, MAKHI WOODHOUSE was a standout: he scored four runs and stole six bases while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tobias Stephens, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Meanwhile, Banneker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 26-4 to Douglas County.

Banneker saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Bickham, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Dalesean Hodges was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Creekside took their win against Banneker in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-4. Will Creekside repeat their success, or does Banneker have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
