Basketball Game Preview: Wyomissing Spartans vs. Fleetwood Tigers

Wyomissing has gone 8-1 against Fleetwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wyomissing Spartans will head out to take on the Fleetwood Tigers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wyomissing has four straight wins, Fleetwood has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Wyomissing earned a 44-33 victory over Northeastern. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Bobcats are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wyomissing to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addie Loeb, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Loeb has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-23, which was the final score in Fleetwood's tilt against Methacton on Saturday.

Wyomissing's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Fleetwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Everything came up roses for Wyomissing against Fleetwood when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 67-12 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wyomissing since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
