Baseball Recap: Althoff Catholic's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Althoff Catholic had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Stallions a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Crusaders were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Stallions, so the Crusaders were just returning the favor.

The result came thanks to Robbie Smith's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Pollock, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Althoff Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
