Basketball Recap: Granada Takes a Loss

Granada lost against Heritage back in November of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Granada Matadors received a blow as they fell 59-40 to the Heritage Patriots. The Matadors' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabi Marte, who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points along with five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Bayot, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points and four steals.

Granada's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Heritage, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Granada will take on Foothill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Granada is facing Foothill at the right time seeing as Foothill is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Heritage, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Acalanes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Acalanes knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Heritage likes a good challenge.
