Basketball Recap: Desert Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Desert put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 42-38 W against the California City Ravens. The Scorpions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Ravens, too.

Desert's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kalista William led the charge by as she made all 6 shots she took for 17 points. Kloyee Baldwin was another key player, as she made all 5 shots she took racking up 11 points.

Despite the loss, California City saw an underclassman step up: freshman ANGELA COULTER shot 63% from the field to rack up 32 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of MALAYAH WARD, who posted six points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Desert's record now sits at 3-0. As for California City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Desert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-51 victory against Boron on the 6th. As for California City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-36 win against The Palmdale Aerospace Academy on the 4th.
