Basketball Recap: Big Bear Takes a Loss

Big Bear was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-17 loss at the hands of the Silver Valley Trojans. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Naomi Durrah, who posted 35 points in addition to eight steals and seven rebounds. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Durrah has scored at least a third of Silver Valley's points. Lyric White was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 18 boards.

Big Bear's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Silver Valley, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Big Bear has already played their next game (against Hesperia Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Silver Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-34 win against University Prep on the 21st.
