Football Recap: Cooper Piles Up the Points Against Legacy

Cooper had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 53-24 victory over the Legacy Leopards. Considering the Cougars have won four contests by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cooper had a senior duo take command as Peyton Ewing rushed for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries and Jaden Carrillo rushed for 51 yards and one score. Ewing has become a key player for the Cougars: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.

Cooper's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Legacy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Cooper and Legacy will both be playing Palo Duro the next time they take the field. The Leopards will host the Dons at 7:00 p.m. on October 31, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 6th.
