Baseball Game Preview: Lovett Lions vs. Hapeville Charter Hornets

The Lovett Lions will square off against the Hapeville Charter Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Lovett sitting on 16 straight wins and Hapeville Charter on three.

Hapeville Charter's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Lovett hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Lovett never let Rockmart get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Hapeville Charter made easy work of KIPP Atlanta Collegiate on Monday and carried off a 15-0 win. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Hapeville Charter pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Lovett, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Lovett took their win against Hapeville Charter in their previous matchup back in April of 2015 by a conclusive 15-0. Will Lovett repeat their success, or does Hapeville Charter has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
