Basketball Recap: Desert Christian Makes It 13 in a Row at Home

Desert Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 41-34 victory over the Lancaster Baptist Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-27 back in December of 2024.

Desert Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makenzie Duffee, who went 5 of 12 en route to 12 points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. Duffee has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Armstrong, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine steals.

Desert Christian's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Lancaster Baptist, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
