Baseball Game Preview: Carrollton Trojans vs. Northside Patriots

The Carrollton Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Northside Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carrollton will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

On Friday, Carrollton made easy work of Chapel Hill and carried off a 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Northside waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Lions.

Chris Biggs made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

Biggs wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Clay, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Carrollton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Northside, their record now sits at 22-7.
