Football Recap: Chaparral Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Chaparral came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Valencia Jaguars as they made off with a 40-14 victory. The Lobos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.

A big part of Chaparral's win came down to the chemistry between Israel Nieto and his top target Raul Lopez. Nieto threw for 250 yards and four TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes while Lopez gained 158 total yards and three touchdowns. Lopez's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Tyvin Howard was in the mix as well, providing Chaparral with two scores.

Chaparral's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Valencia, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Chaparral will face off against rival Silver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Valencia is set to challenge their familiar foe Manzano at 11:00 a.m. on the 18th.
