Volleyball Game Preview: Wimberley Texans vs. Fredericksburg Billies

Wimberley is a perfect 10-0 against Fredericksburg since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Texans will host the Billies at 6:00 p.m. Wimberley will be looking to extend their current 24-game winning streak.

Wimberley won the last time they faced Davenport and Ashton Shipman did her part to make sure it happened again. The Texans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wolves 3-2 for which the team can thank Shipman, who had 19 digs and eight assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Wimberley was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (104-102), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-18, 19-25, 17-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Fredericksburg got the win against Bandera on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

One reason for the win was Fredericksburg's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.

Wimberley's win bumped their record up to 38-5. As for Fredericksburg, the victory got them back to even at 17-17.

Wimberley took their win against Fredericksburg when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Texans repeat their success, or do the Billies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
