Football Recap: Annapolis Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Nysean Harris Johnson and De'myen Gray + How To Watch

Annapolis and Broadneck squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Annapolis had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bruins, falling 40-20. Despite 169 more yards than the Bruins, the Panthers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Annapolis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of De'Myen Gray, who rushed for 123 yards and one TD, and Nysean Harris Johnson, who rushed for 109 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Gray is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

Among those leading the charge was Nate Kropkowski, who threw for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Another big playmaker for Broadneck was Max Fresty, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Annapolis' defeat dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Broadneck, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Annapolis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Broadneck, they will square off against Paint Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 9.2 points per game this season, so the Bruins' offense will have their work cut out for them.
