Rio Linda had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.3 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 53-49 W against the Sutter Huskies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 74-29 back in January.

Rio Linda's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Savannah Grant, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Grant is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. LaRay Mitchell was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Rio Linda smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Sutter lost, don't look at Torrence Harter. Despite the final result, she dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 11 boards, and ten blocks. Harter also grabbed nine steals, which is notable because Sutter is 14-7 when she posts at least five steals, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alaina Davis, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Rio Linda pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.1 points over those games. As for Sutter, their record is now 16-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Linda will take on Mira Loma at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Rio Linda is facing Mira Loma at the right time seeing as Mira Loma is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Sutter, they will challenge Destiny Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
