Football Recap: Sparks Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sparks extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were outmatched by the Fernley Vaqueros and fell 47-12. The Railroaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-6.

Sparks' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danny Taylor, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns, and Marcus Woods, who picked up 84 receiving yards.

As for Fernley, their win bumped their record up to 3-1. They haven't had any issues with Sparks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Keeshawn Love was his usual excellent self, rushing for 210 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 12th straight game with at least 122 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Stephens, who rushed for 68 yards and one score.

Looking ahead, Sparks will look to defend their home field on Friday against Churchill County at 7:00 p.m. The Railroaders will need to watch out since the Greenwave have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Fernley, they will head out to face off against South Tahoe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so the Vaqueros' offense will have their work cut out for them.
