Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Glenwood

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Glenwood walked away with it. They won by a run and slipped past the Mt. Zion Braves 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 back in April.

Cole Woodward was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Quinten Hale was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colten Knoedler, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for Glenwood, bringing their record up to 24-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Mt. Zion, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-13.

As of now, neither Glenwood nor the Braves have any future games scheduled.
