Basketball Recap: Deer Valley Comes Up Short

Deer Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Heritage Patriots and fell 64-15. The game marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Heritage got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nella Toeaina out in front who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Toeaina a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kylie Wisely, who earned four points along with six boards and six steals.

Deer Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Heritage, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deer Valley will challenge Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will square off against Pittsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
