Basketball Recap: Point Loma Pointers vs. Lincoln Hornets
The Point Loma Pointers won the last time they faced the Lincoln Hornets, and things went their way on Friday too. Point Loma strolled past the Hornets with points to spare, taking the game 45-31. That's two games straight that Point Loma has won by exactly 14 points.
Rachael Morris was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 17 times she's played. Kylie Wade was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Point Loma and bumps their season record up to 16-9. As for Lincoln, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-20.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Loma will challenge the Patriots at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to challenge the Marauders at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Mira Mesa's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Hornets have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
