Basketball Recap: Whitney Comes Up Short

Whitney lost against Oak Ridge back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Whitney Wildcats took a hard 46-32 fall against the Oak Ridge Trojans. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Whitney lost, don't look at Natalia Benavidez. Despite the final result, she posted ten points and four steals. With that strong performance, Benavidez is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Tylie Kitchen was another key player, putting up five points and ten rebounds.

Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Oak Ridge, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.

When Whitney and Oak Ridge next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Whitney will face off against Folsom and their five-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Oak Ridge will try to stop St. Francis' three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
