Soccer Recap: Maranatha Takes Down Ventura in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Maranatha rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Ventura Cougars out 2-1. That's two games straight that the Minutemen have won by just one goal.

Ryley Dunn and Jai Scipio scored both of Maranatha's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Maranatha has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Ventura, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-9.

Coming up, Maranatha will square off against Adelanto at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Adelanto will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Maranatha surely won't give up without a fight. Ventura does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
