Recap: Arroyo Knights vs. Gabrielino Eagles

If the Arroyo Knights were feeling good off their 56-12 takedown of the South El Monte Eagles last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Arroyo suffered a tough 50-26 defeat at the hands of Gabrielino on Friday. Arroyo has not had much luck with Gabrielino recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Gabrielino's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paris Ngeam, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Ngeam continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Banh, who scored eight points along with five assists and four steals.

Arroyo's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-14. As for Gabrielino, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road.

Arroyo will square off against El Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. El Monte is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Gabrielino, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Marshall at 5:00 p.m. Marshall is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
