Basketball Recap: Sophia Killian's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Truckee over South Tahoe

Truckee played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the South Tahoe Vikings, falling 42-22. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Killian, who posted eight points.

Avery Long went supernova for South Tahoe, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Long is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Carly Cox, who had ten points along with five boards and four steals.

Truckee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for South Tahoe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-9.

Truckee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-26 loss against Wooster on the 24th. South Tahoe has also already played their next match, a 42-23 victory against Hug on the 24th.
