Baseball Game Preview: Randolph-Clay Red Devils vs. Miller County Pirates

Randolph-Clay hasn't had much luck against Miller County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Devils will challenge the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Randolph-Clay has given up an average of 15.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Randolph-Clay is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Monday. They lost 17-2 to Pataula Charter Academy.

Meanwhile, Miller County waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Indians 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Andrew Keown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kolby Yates and Dru Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Yates scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Johnson scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Johnson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Randolph-Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Miller County, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.

Randolph-Clay suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Miller County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
