Soccer Game Preview: Walsh Jesuit vs. Avon

The Walsh Jesuit Warriors will face off against the Avon Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Walsh Jesuit sitting on three straight victories and Avon on five.

Walsh Jesuit is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Stow-Munroe Falls, sneaking past 2-1. Given Walsh Jesuit's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Stow-Munroe Falls are ranked 116th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Avon won against Normandy on Wednesday with six goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Saturday. The Eagles blew past North Ridgeville 6-1. Avon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by three goals or more this season.

They hit North Ridgeville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from London Carnie (2), Brock Harman (2), Mateo Muratore, and Cole Veverka.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 13-2-3. As for Walsh Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2-4.
