            Softball Recap: Evans Knights vs. Washington-Wilkes Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Evans had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the Washington-Wilkes Tigers get on the board and left with  a   5-0  victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played  back in August of 2024.
 Brittney Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in August of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with one  double and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Serenity Campos was  incredible,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 Evans  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in five consecutive  matches  dating back to last season.
 Evans didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  6-5  win against Screven County on the 8th. As for Washington-Wilkes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  9-1  defeat against Loganville Christian Academy on the 8th.
