Hermann fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Owensville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dutchmen by a score of 8-7. The Bearcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hermann's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Owensville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Hermann will square off against Mark Twain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Bearcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Owensville, they will challenge Union at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
