Basketball Game Preview: Sanger West Hornets vs. Justin Garza Guardians

The Sanger West Hornets will square off against the Justin Garza Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Sanger West is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Firebaugh just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Justin Garza played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 52-28 to Mendota. While losing is never fun, the Guardians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 705th, while the Aztecs are ranked 323rd).

Justin Garza has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Sanger West, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
