Jordan Minter was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Ter'Kaevian Rush was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Hardaway got themselves on the board against Carver on Friday, but Carver never followed suit. They didn't even let the Tigers on the board, marking their second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by ten runs or more this season.
Jayden Foster was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Foster was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
In other batting news, Dario Ladriye was a standout: he scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Christian Eleby, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Hardaway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They are 10-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The win made it two in a row for Hardaway and bumps their season record up to 14-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Sumter County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sumter County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hardaway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 17.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Sumter County might still be hurting after the 17-6 defeat they got from Hardaway when the teams last played back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
