Basketball Recap: Calipatria Takes a Loss

Calipatria was the 54-34 winner over Holtville when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Calipatria Hornets fell just short of the Holtville Vikings by a score of 36-33 on Tuesday.

Holtville can attribute much of their success to Mallorie Kellum, who posted 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Melany Estrada, who scored six points and 12 boards.

Calipatria's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Holtville, their record is now 8-15.

When Calipatria and Holtville next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Calipatria will try to stop Brawley's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Holtville will take on Warner and their 12-game winning streak at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
