Softball Game Preview: Scotland County Tigers vs. Schuyler County Rams

The Scotland County Tigers will face off against the Schuyler County Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Scotland County nor Schuyler County posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Scotland County fell victim to North Shelby and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 10-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Schuyler County nor North Shelby made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Rams fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1.

Jayde Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

Schuyler County's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-7. As for Scotland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything went Scotland County's way against Schuyler County when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Scotland County made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
