Preview: East Bakersfield Blades vs. South Spartans
East Bakersfield has been on the road for five straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the South Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, East Bakersfield had to suffer through a rough 82-12 loss at the hands of the Warriors. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East Bakersfield has scored all season.
Meanwhile, South took a serious blow against the Vikings on Tuesday, falling 70-20. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost eight in a row.
East Bakersfield dropped their record down to 13-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for East Bakersfield against the Spartans in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 61-30 win. Does East Bakersfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
