Baseball Recap: Mapleton Mounties vs. South Central Trojans

Mapleton extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-20. They lost 20-0 to the South Central Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 on May 4th.

As for South Central, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-12-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For South Central's part, Weston June was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. June also tossed a walk, which is notable because South Central is 7-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-11-1 otherwise. June was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, South Central will challenge Edison at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (471 vs. 166).
