Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Chapel Eagles vs. Buena Park Coyotes

The Calvary Chapel Eagles will head out to challenge the Buena Park Coyotes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Chapel has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 26.

Calvary Chapel lost 71-49 to Segerstrom on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 824th, while the Jaguars are ranked 280th).

Meanwhile, Buena Park made easy work of Godinez Fundamental on Thursday and carried off a 66-41 win. The Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Calvary Chapel better keep an eye on Gloria Barrera. She was instrumental in Buena Park's win, going 15 of 23 on her way to 32 points and five steals. The game was Barrera's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Mya Barnes was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Buena Park is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Calvary Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.

Calvary Chapel was dealt a bruising 89-32 loss at the hands of Buena Park in their previous meeting on January 9th. Can Calvary Chapel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
