Recap: Torres Toros vs. Fresno Warriors
If the Torres Toros were feeling good off their 63-36 takedown of the McLane Highlanders last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Torres' tough 55-35 defeat to the Warriors on Monday might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Torres in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.
Torres' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was J'Lynn Mitchell, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Sabrina Cerrillo was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Torres' loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Fresno, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Torres will be playing at home against the Patriots at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hoover is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Fresno, they will take on the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyside has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 10.
