Football Recap: Portal Panthers vs. Metter Tigers
After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Portal finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were outmatched by the Metter Tigers and fell 31-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.
Gideon Fulcher threw for 47 yards on five of nine attempts. Jason Crawford was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground, Josh Coleman rushed for 45 yards.
Michael Ricks had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 135 yards and three scores on only 12 carries for Metter. Another player making a difference was Kahne Brown, who rushed for 76 yards and one TD.
Portal's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Metter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
