Football Recap: McDonough Takes a Loss + How To Watch

McDonough extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They fell 17-7 to the Westlake Wolverines. The Rams lost against the Wolverines in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 47-0 score last time.

As for Westlake, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.3 points over those games.

Westlake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mekhi Prather, who picked up 55 receiving yards and one TD. Orlando (O3) Moss III handled things on the ground, rushing for 102 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDonough will head out to square off against Calvert at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers' defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so the Rams' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Westlake, they will head out on the road to face off against Chopticon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines will be up against the Braves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
