Basketball Recap: Chaparral Skates Past Silverado with Ease

Chaparral won against Santiago on Monday with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Pumas took their game with ease, bagging a 62-30 win over the Silverado Hawks. That looming 62-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pumas yet this season.

Zetta Faasua continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 60% from the field en route to 24 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Chaparral's points. Jadyn Cannon also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Chaparral was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silverado only posted five.

Despite the loss, Silverado still got an impressive performance from Ce Ce Scott, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Scott now owns an excellent 58.8% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Romeja Craig, who posted six points and 11 boards.

The victory was the third in a row for Chaparral, bringing their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Silverado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Chaparral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-59 loss against Chino on the 26th. As for Silverado, they have also already played their next matchup, an 81-28 defeat against La Jolla Country Day on the 26th.
