Soccer Recap: Capistrano Valley Find Success

Capistrano Valley kept a clean sheet against San Clemente on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the San Clemente Tritons out 1-0. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Tritons are ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Capistrano Valley's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 4-5-4. As for San Clemente, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Aliso Niguel the next time they take the pitch. Capistrano Valley will host Aliso Niguel at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, while San Clemente will host them at 5:15 p.m. on January 21st.
