Recap: Donegal Indians vs. Northeastern Bobcats
The Donegal Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 69-43 defeat at the hands of Northeastern. While losing is never fun, Donegal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Northeastern is ranked 63rd).
Leading Northeastern to victory were Mikayla Coleman and Lauralye Kennedy. Coleman scored 20 points along with seven assists and six steals, while Kennedy scored 18 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Colleen Finnegan was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three blocks and two steals.
Donegal dropped their record down to 6-13 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.4 points per game. As for Northeastern, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.
Donegal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeastern, they will head out on the road to take on Delone Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeastern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
