Basketball Recap: Rancho Cotate Piles Up the Points Against Casa Grande

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rancho Cotate). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Casa Grande Gauchos 55-28. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.

Rancho Cotate was led to victory by Daniela Campos and Delilah Morie. Campos made all 5 shots she took to post 12 points and four steals, while Morie made all 5 shots she took for 10 points and four steals. Those ten points gave Morie a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleanor O'Brien, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

The win (which was Rancho Cotate's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Casa Grande, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Rancho Cotate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-29 defeat against Healdsburg on the 6th. As for Casa Grande, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-43 loss against Vacaville on the 6th.
