Baseball Recap: Fall River Takes a Loss

Fall River extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-12. They lost 10-0 to the Rio Vikings. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Rio, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

For Rio's part, the result came thanks to Charlie Homman's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. Homman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Miles Hall was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Garrett Clark was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

While Fall River had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
