Softball Recap: Lambert Takes a Loss

Lambert suffered their closest loss since September 14, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Cambridge Bears by a score of 3-1. The Longhorns have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Payton Yi was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Jamison, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lambert's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Cambridge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lambert will face off against Pope at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cambridge, they will take on Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Bears their first taste of in-conference action this season.
